An accidental video on the fifth floor [5/??? artefacts collected]
[ After days of mulling things over in his room Philip has finally found the courage to venture outside and tackle unresolved matters. ]
Hello Daniel, how are you these days? I just came by to apologise on behalf of the sentient virus in my body that almost killed y-- No. No, that... that's not going to- not good. That... that is not good.
[ Well. Almost.
He is standing... or rather pacing in front of a door, muttering to himself. ]
Hey Dan, how are things? So about that ritual I almost dragged you off t-- Jesus!
[ He runs one hand through his hair and moves to knock on the door. At the last second he withdraws, shakes his head violently and falls back against the wall, sinking to the floor. ]
What are you doing, Philip?
[[OOC: Many, many thanks to everyone who was and still is working on the ritual sacrifice log. ♥]]

Come on.

Fortunately it only takes him a moment to rejoin reality and once he does he nods to Tim and slowly makes his way into the unoccupied room.
He briefly considers suggesting his own, which is only two doors down, but the reasons for not doing so are overwhelmingly clear.
Furniture forms inside once he enters and he sinks into the couch in the corner, trying to catch his breath. ]

Gonna be ok?
*For the record he does sound a little concerned, not just making idle chit chat.*
no subject
Just... Just give me a second...
[ He needs to calm down. Get a grip. But most of all he needs to come up with an idea where to start explaining. ]
no subject
Yeah. I uh... yeah. I understand.

I was trapped in an abandoned research station before I came here; an underground facility that had been wiped out by a virus... ancient or perhaps alien, I cannot say for sure.
The researchers down there, the entire personnel... everyone who had been infected turned into monst-- into creatures that were barely even human anymore.
And I [ Deep breath. ] contracted that virus.
[ He has to pause here to compose himself again. ]
no subject
You look like a normal guy.
*Give him some time to come to grips with this sentient virus idea..*
no subject
Unfortunately that's only the first half of the story. He sighs. ]
I didn't turn like the others.
The virus is sentient, but instead of taking over it... manifested as a- a separate personality of sorts. It-- He called himself Clarence and--
[ He sighs again, given how insane this must sound. ]
Normally he "stays in my head", he can't- he can't control what I do, but...
[ Philip pauses. He wonders if he should mention the hallucinations. He quickly decides against it. ]
There was this girl- here and she... she did something to... I don't know, switch us around and all of a sudden I was the one trapped while he--
[ He looks up at Tim and falters. Then he lowers his head. ]
I suppose you know the rest. And... anyway, that was who you met.

...
I mean, I am Philip, not him, but... I don't know what happened.
After the portal appeared I- I don't remember anything and when I woke up he--
[ He pauses. He almost doesn't want to say it out loud, in case that would somehow curse his good luck. ]
I think he's gone.
no subject
The portal worked but only for him?
*Frown.*
So I guess it worked out for you then.
no subject
Once again Philip is silent for a while. Then he looks at Tim. ]
What about you?
...And Markus?
no subject
Do you know about the thing in the woods? The Operator? Faceless thing, wearing a suit with a bunch of arms. Or so I've heard, I've never actually seen it.
It's this ... thing that .. stalks and kills people. Mostly little kids I guess. And uh...
*He trails off. How best to phrase this? He already sounds like a lunatic.*
no subject
He was too busy angsting in his room or being an insane ritual killer most of the time, so he hasn't actually met a whole lot of people or heard a whole lot of stories yet.
When Tim falls silent he leans back on the couch a little and waits. He's been there only moments before, so he knows explanations like that aren't easy. ]
no subject
So... In order to get back at J and Alex who had been filming it the operator did.. Something. I don't know what. Created this whole other person inside me to follow them around... Help it kill people. I don't remember anything I do when that happens.
I lose.. Whole days of my life to.. Markus. Which isn't even his name. And I can't control any of it.
And I don't know when I'll change. Could be anytime.

The thought is a knee-jerk reaction, born from the wish of not having to live with the memories of what Clarence did in his body and what he made him do before that.
The sentiment vanishes quickly, leaving behind only a mild twinge of guilt at having experienced it in the first place. ]
He semmed so...
[ Philip trails off. Nice? In a way, perhaps. He was certainly helpful enough and definitely not murderous. ]
I'm sorry.
no subject
Owned I think is what he calls it.
Not that I can talk to him at all or anything. Though.. I'm not sure I'd want to.
no subject
[ Clarifying. He's trying to get this right. ]
no subject
And he doesn't eat so I wake up sick and dehydrated normally.
Why? Can you.. Talk to.. To Clarence?
no subject
Talking to him is easy... ignoring him is the challenge.
He mocks me constantly and he... does not exactly think highly of us monkeys, but I guess you noticed that.

This Operator...
[ He trails off, unsure how to phrase his question... or if he even has one, besides a general whu? ]
What does he-- it? want?
[ Because that part somehow got lost on him. Something about J and Alex? Two names that don't really ring a bell. Clarence has something resembling a motive at least. ]
no subject
Can't believe it followed us here. How the fuck did it do that?
