One unenthusiastic video under sea [13/??? artefacts collected]

[ Philip's face is looking perfectly normal (if a little crabby in the strictly mood-related sense of the word). Shoulders, arms, no problem there. His chest, not currently covered by any sort of clothing, is looking just a tad more blueish and... transparent than it should.

Opacity only decreases from there, making Phil entirely light blue and see-through below his stomach. Below the waist it looks like he's been torn and tattered, his body segueing into a thick bundle of thin tentacles where his legs should be.

Or in other words: Philip, now with roughly 65% more this.
]

How is that even--

[ The blue tentacles whirl around as Philip turns and spins nervously in front of his algae-encrusted mirror, placing his hands behind his back to confirm that there is indeed nothing whatsoever between the front and the back of his body.

He spins a few more times before letting himself drift onto his mattress with resignation.
]

...I want my organs back.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ If only Daniel had reached the final chamber. ]

I admit, [ he stammers slightly, ] I was a little alarmed by... the event's onset.

[ And it is DEFINITELY AN EVENT. His hallucinations tend to follow certain patterns, and this hits a lot of different strokes, what with the fish theme and the fact that he himself has physically changed.

...If Phil says "what event" then he's going to do a triple fucking pirouette into orbit above the handle. :( ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Philip nods sympathetically. ]

I know. At first I thought it was--

[ He stops himself, looking alarmed. He feels comfortably entrusting Daniel with many uncomfortable things, but "At first I thought it was Clarence, trying to convince me that I was drowning in a room full of water" is not one of them. ]

It was terrifying, but--

You... [ He smiles a little. ] You actually get used to it pretty quickly, uh... at least I did.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Okay, despite his logical reasoning and the fact that this opens up a whole new world of weird questions (where Philip's organs have gone, for a start), the confirmation that this isn't all in his head perks him up considerably.

He even smiles! ]

...Yes. Yes, I believe I shall.

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you... want to go for a swim?

[ Because exploring new areas is fun and never has negative consequences ever. Wheeeee! \o/ ]

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Not even ever! Hey, maybe they'll find a cursed pearl or fall down an oil-mining shaft! ]

I'd like that very much.

[ ...though since they're underwater and everything, the clothes are really getting to be a drag. Literally. If he really has become a merman, then taking them off is surely the same as stripping off at the beach; Phil certainly seems to think so. Except... er. ]

...Is it likely that we'll meet any ladies? I shouldn't like to be, er, undressed if we do.

[ He already has no trousers on. :| ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt they'd mind.

[ OHOHOHOH-- no. Wait. That is not what Philip is getting at here. ]

We're underwater, so... that- that's practically beach wear zone, right?

[ Philip tried the shirt look, but modesty isn't worth the effort that comes with navigating in a soaked sweater... especially if nobody else is doing it. ]

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but the women are hardly likely to be safely segregated.

[ And hardly any of them wear enough clothes at the best of times, so what liberties they'll take when they're partially fish is anybody's guess. ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Comprehension dawns on Philip's face. Right. The Victorian thing. ]

I can't make any promises, but... you're going to have more trouble moving if you keep your things on.

[ Encouraging smile of JUST GET NAKED ALREADY. ]

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-13 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
...That is true, I suppose.

[ B-BUT PROPRIETY AND MORAL STEADFASTNESS AND AND

He would quite like to be able to swim unimpeded, though. And he's not too difficult a person to persuade.

Daniel looks worried for a few more moments, but then smiles back at Philip, a little mischieviously. ]

Very well; but if we do cause a scandal, it was you who persuaded me.

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ Philip can think of a small list of things the people here will find more alarming than their naked fish bodies:

- Everything else

At some point he should probably give Daniel an update on the current status of modesty. For now he will stick to a suppressed chuckle and a solemn nod.
]

I take full responsibility for our dress code and its consequences.

[ And then he demonstrates a revelation he found rather brilliant when he discovered it even though it was probably glaringly apparent to most other people: When you're surrounded by water moving inside the mansion is entirely overrated.

Philip opens his window, pushes himself outside and waves to Daniel. In fact, outside is where he will be able to spot Philip now, should his window not be absent, obscured or otherwise malfunctioning.
]

Let's go.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well it ran out of batteries this morning, but luckily it has a backup generator and so it's functioning perfectly well at the moment, thank you for asking.

Daniel lets out a delighted laugh at Phil's discovery, and waves aside as he swims to meet him at the window. It takes a bit of manouevering and paddling and waving of a tail he's still not used to.

He unlatches the window and pushes it open, then admits: ]
I may need to relearn the art of movement.

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
Take your time. This [ Philip turns to the side and back, swaying his tentacles and spreading them out like a net before they slowly settle down again. ] is not a particularly fast model.

[ He then pushes himself to the side and holds onto the window, making room for Daniel to get naked outside and ready. ]

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ Haha, it looks like his lower half's gone through a paper-shredder. ]

My complements for being able to swim at all.

[ While he's smiling and talking, he's also undoing buttons and untying fabric. Give him a minute here, though; he is wearing ALL OF THE CLOTHES after all. ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ Sure, as much time as you need.

Philip will just be floating here, enjoying the view. Of the vast and majestic ocean.
]
Edited 2011-02-14 11:59 (UTC)

so just to be clear, these two are literally sleeping together, right?

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[ This isn't as embarrassing as you might think; Philip is a fellow bloke after all. Daniel backtracks to the bed and folds (as far as is possible) his things onto it as they come off. Cravat! Tie tack! Waistcoat! Waterlogged pocketwatch! Shirt! Undershirt! Corset!

But he can leave his parasol on. ]

GAH! Why would you even say that?! Don't soil their pure and platonic-- ...yes. Yes they are.

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Floating, floating, floating, oh what a nice ocean this is, floating, la dee da~ ]

...Did you think about what you're going to eat? We were talking about it earlier, apparently the fridges only have seaweed now and some of us [ Philip. Mostly Philip. 8| ] don't even have a stomach to begin with...

[ ...What? That's the kind of thing you make small talk about under water, right? ]

Someone, somewhere is writing an angry rant about us right now.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He keeps his arms vaguely in front of his torso, because okay maybe this is a little bit embarrassing. But he doesn't voice any more objections; Phil seems perfectly comfortable with the lack of clothes and Daniel doesn't want to be the one who can't deal with it. ]

...I hadn't really thought of it just yet.

[ He shoots his dark torso a not entirely happy look, then makes for the window again, pausing just inside it. He's seriously about to swim out through his bedroom window using his fish tail. What even. ]

Do you suppose the kitchen will still provide board?

To them I say BAH and may crocodiles bite their genitals in the morning! /BASKS IN ANGRY RANTS

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Philip shrugs. ]

We can have a look. If you want we could...

[ He pushes himself off the wall, spreading his tentacles in all their paper-shredded glory and hovering a few feet away from the window, wearing nothing whatsoever his best double dare you grin. ]

...drop in right now.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Daniel peers out of the window. It's a long way down.

...Then again, he's a fish. :|

He grins back at Philip, a little nervous but game nonetheless. ]

We'll see if you can eat without a stomach.

[ He pushes himself out of the window, flails a little, then finds himself floating instead of falling and grins again with more confidence. ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Philip laughs and leans forward to look down at his see-through self, worrying slightly what might happen to it when used without an instruction manual.

But then again, this is Mister Oh-yummy-experimental-drugs-LET'S-DO-IT we're talking about here, so regular food is hardly even a challenge.

He takes a look at Daniel's free body culture swimming progress.
]

...See? It's almost just like walking.

[ Except not like walking at all, but... you know, you get the idea. ]

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...Frictional protagonists really have a lot in common, don't they? ]

Or like flying, as people might practice it in dreams.

[ He's trying to scull with his arms as well as beat his tail, and it's pretty much the only thing keeping him from spinning in a circle. Daniel, you suck at underwater steering. ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ HEY BRO HEY. WANNA FIND SOMEBODY WHO DROWNED AND INJECT OURSELVES WITH THEIR BLOOD?

...

In other news, seeing Daniel's navigation difficulties so close to him makes Philip float to the side cautiously.

Steering isn't such an issue for him, but controlling the movements of his tentacles is just about as simple as controlling long hair in a storm.

...No, a tentacle scrunchy is not an option.
]

Just, uhm... don't swim too close to me. Those [ Gesture towards paper-shredded lower half. ] are a little... unpredictable.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[ DO I EVER! :D ]

Can you not control them?

[ He's worried for Phil rather than for himself; hell if he remembers that a jellyfish stings. ]

[identity profile] sadfreezingbrit.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I can manoeuvre, but I can't really help where they drift off to when I'm not moving.

...I'll keep my distance, just be careful you don't accidentally swim into them.

[identity profile] blimeyjamwalls.livejournal.com 2011-02-14 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Why not?

[ THAT MEANS REACH OUT TO POKE THEM AND FIND OUT, RIGHT? ]
